I am so grateful for the overwhelming support of our loving community. The Toy Swap day on November 17th was a great success. Families exchanged over 1000+ toys. Kids' books and teddy bears. Building blocks and cars. Sensory learning toys.
We could not have asked for a better turnout!

I cannot express enough how exciting it is for the team at Joy of Giving to see our vision coming to life. Toys play an amazing role in shaping our kids from educating and entertaining, to teaching values and forming the imagination. We received toys from all walks of life, from the locals in the neighbourhood, to those who travelled from far and even toys originating from Peru.
With the joy spreading, we watched children’s eyes light up with excitement. Parents sighed with relief as they found new homes for their children’s beloved toys. There is no need to waste toys in perfectly good condition, with some even being in their original plastic. This is what makes today so incredible. Not only do people give away their toys, but they receive preloved toys as well.
Some key highlights
We received over 1000+ toys
One individual donated a suitcase full of toys
Several individuals registered to have toys picked up
Toys were donated that originated from overseas
Preloved toys found new homes
A big thanks goes out to Marrickville Metro for providing space and support to host the day. They really went above and beyond, promoting it internally, online and providing storage space.
Here’s the thing, with an overwhelming number of toys being donated, there are plenty still looking for new homes. I ask for your help to spread the word and share the preloved toy journey with others. If you or someone you know would like some toys, please get in touch and we can send them your way.
